The beginning

Once upon a time there was a small club called HDH which stood for Honda Divisie Hilversum. It contained a few members and had a small website on a personal homepage space of A2000, now known as UPC. It was something like speed.a2000.nl/~members/daraci. The interwebs was growing and Peter (Founder) decided that things should become bigger and better. There was too much inadequate and scattered information flying around and this needed to be changed.

The middle

Due to a past of amateur radio, the name Race-Eend was adopted in the domain name, resulting in race-eend.com. This would become the home of many websites, among the early stage of 4-stroke.nl. This website came alive in 2003, when the founder was lucky enough to register such a fitting domain name. The website became quickly known and was visited by people all over the world, mainly due to the large amount of available documentation.

The end

As for so many things, life goes on and things in the founders' personal life became a higher priority than maintaining the website which resulted in a outdated and wobbly website.

The now

Until 2010, that is. After looking critically at the website, the founder couldn't watch his work go to waste and decided to revive the website by gradually updating the software, discovering that a lot of software was not supported any more and thus horribly outdated. Besides that, the provided info on the website itself dated from at most 2007 which is unacceptable.

The future

The founder sees a crisp, fully functional and open website for all who love the Honda 4-stroke moped and their copies. A website which will be bi-lingual in the beginning and gradually switch to the English language to accommodate a wider audience. A data repository for websites that disappear in history, losing the data for all who needs it. A open marketplace for free and international trade, be it as an auction or a classifieds page. And maybe, if time permits, even a dedicated club that will not discriminate against brands. It will offer an open and friendly environment for 4-stroke lovers.

"We were the biggest, still are the biggest and will become even better in that!"
PB van Geelen, 2010
